Artist Statement
My painting is driven by a desire to explore what lies beneath the visible world: the memories, emotions and experiences that shape our sense of identity and belonging.
I am fascinated by the relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit, and by the traces that time, history and personal experience leave behind. Through painting, I transform observations of real places, architectural structures and human figures into spaces that exist between reality and imagination.
I am interested in vulnerability, silence, displacement and transformation, but also in the possibility of finding meaning and connection within uncertainty. My creative process allows me to move beyond literal representation and discover new emotional meanings through colour, texture, layers and abstraction.
I hope my paintings invite viewers to pause, look beyond the surface and connect with their own memories and experiences. For me, painting is a continuous search for the invisible stories that connect us to ourselves, to others and to the places we carry within us.
